Your Majesty
This is what I thought to myself when Preethi walked down the stairs in her traditional Indian reception dress. It was a sight to see and all Angel and I could say was “Wow”!!! Preethi showed us the dress in an online catalog prior to the shoot but the catalog did not prepare us for what we witnessed with our own eyes when she entered the room. Our little Indian princess was a bit nervous at first but I soon found that she did her “homework” and the rest was magic.
Even though we had spoken a few times and passed each other in the hallway, we were still getting to know Preethi. Well after last weekend, I would say “Mission Accomplished”; sorry George. For those that know me, I have special ways to get people comfortable in front of the camera and they seem to work most of the time. I was in rare form with Preethi and she found out firsthand how crazy I can get. I enjoy shooting everyone who steps in front of my camera but it was a true “honor” to shoot her and to watch her transform as the shoot progressed. The day was magic and we had one wardrobe change that yielded another set of spectacular colors. For this post, I have chosen a combination of color and black and white shots. I am working on mastering my B&W editing skills and love how these turned out.
From a technical standpoint, we worked with a single Alienbee B800, 45” white satin shoot-through umbrella, 20/40 degree grid spots and some LUCK. It was an awesome learning experience as in “be careful removing the HOT GRID SPOT “ouch” and try not to impale the person you’re photographing with the umbrella post when repositioning the umbrella. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy…

Preeti
Last weekend I got quite a treat. Dave and I were invited into Preeti and her husband Joshua's home for our photoshoot. While Preeti posed for us in some very gorgeous traditional Indian fashion, Joshua watched their daughter, made us a snack and even lunch. Joshua and Preeti are a truly amazing couple and really know how to make people feel welcome in their home.
I hope you all enjoy these images of Preeti as much as I enjoyed taking them. Dave and I are already working on ideas for more shoots with this lovely family.

Early Sunday Morning Shoot
A few weeks ago I posted a sneak peek from an MIY shoot with Puja and Karthika. What I didn't explain in that sneak peek was this was a early Sunday morning shoot in the park. However, no matter how early it was these two lovely ladies showed up ready for their photoshoot.
Dave and I have met with Puja before for her test shoot and she was really relaxed in front of the camera. For her casual shoot she really turned on the inner super model. Expect to see more of this beautiful young woman soon!!
Let me know what you think!

MIY Teen Softball Diva- Sneak Peek
This past weekend Dave and I met with Lauren and her mom. My son and Lauren went to the same daycare as little ones, so I was amazed at how Lauren had grown up. This MIY teen is not only a beautiful young girl but she is also a tough little athelete. Here is a sneak peek of her test shoot. I'll post more of her photos later this week so keep an eye out.
Let me know what you think.

Ms. Independent
Here is the much awaited show of Ms. Jaime; also known as Ms. Independent. When I asked Jaime what song she wanted to use for her show, I already had one in mind. What's interesting is that we both chose the same song. I guess we were both in sync with how we viewed her and her show. I hope everyone enjoys this show as much as we enjoyed shooting Jaime.

Jaime- The Second MIY Model
Well the Model In You project is well underway and last weekend Dave and I had the honor of spending time with Jaime. She was a lot of fun to hang out with and a really cool model. We had a lot of laughs and shared some good jabs back and forth between her, Dave and I. I hope everyone enjoys the photos. Let me know what you think.
Jaime, we so need to hang out again sometime!

First Official Model In You Photoshoot
Last Sunday, Dave and I had the honor of kicking off the MIY project individual sessions with Malcolm. I've known Malcolm for a bit so we are fairly comfortable around each other. It also helps that Malcolm and I are both from Southern Louisiana, so we never have trouble finding something to talk about! Malcolm did great in front of the camera. He also brought us several outfits to choose from which is certainly a blessing.
We really had fun running all over downtown Bloomington taking pictures. My son Armond tagged along and scouted out a few good locations for Dave and I.
Check out the photos from this weekends shoot and please give both Malcolm and myself some feedback!
P.S.- For Mrs. Bihm (Malcolm's mother..I will get some graduation shots of your son sometime.) :-)

The Model In You Teens
So, Dave and I have been meeting with models but we have never met with models like our teens. These girls were quite the group! They had me laughing so much. These girls really got into the "Next Top Model" mood and showed Dave and I their skills. These girls seriously wore us out but gave us some great shots and good laughs! Here they are...let me know what you think of these shots of Brie, Jafari, Sasha and Britany.
